About Golf Calculator App
Free golf calculators that show their working, so you can check every number.
What Golf Calculator App does
Golf Calculator App is a set of free online golf calculators. They answer the questions golfers ask on the course, at the club and before a round: what your Handicap Index is, how many strokes you get today, how far a shot will play into the wind, which grip size fits your hand and how many Stableford points you scored.
There are 21 calculators:
- Handicap: the golf handicap calculator, course handicap, index to handicap, handicap differential, differential, course rating and slope rating calculators.
- Distance: club distances, golf ball distance, driver distance, wind and elevation.
- Equipment: club length, grip size, swing weight, club value and trade-in value.
- Scoring and games: Stableford, scramble team handicaps, dead heat and WGT.
How the calculators work
Each calculator follows a published rule or formula:
- The handicap calculators use the World Handicap System, the rules of handicapping published by the USGA and The R&A, including the formulas for score differentials, course handicaps, course rating and slope rating.
- The distance calculators use tour launch-monitor averages and the rules of thumb caddies use for wind and elevation.
- The equipment calculators use standard club-fitting charts.
- The scoring calculators follow the Stableford points table, the handicap allowances in the World Handicap System and the dead-heat rule used by bookmakers.
Every page shows the formula, works through an example and explains what the answer means, so you can check the arithmetic for yourself.
Free, private and no sign-up
The calculators are free and need no account. They run in your browser: the numbers you type are worked out on your own device and are never sent to us or stored. Read more in our privacy policy.
Estimates, not official figures
A Handicap Index from this site is an estimate. Your official Handicap Index comes from your golf club or national association. The disclaimer explains what each type of result can and can't be used for.
