Stableford golf calculator
This Stableford golf calculator scores your round hole by hole. Stableford turns golf from counting every stroke into collecting points, so one bad hole costs you nothing more than a zero. Fill in the card and the points are added up as you go.
Points on a hole = 2 + par − net score
Never less than zero. Net score is your score minus any handicap stroke on that hole.Stableford golf calculator: enter your scorecard
Enter your course handicap, then your score on each hole. Tap a par to change it and edit the stroke index to match your card. You get net scores, points per hole and totals.
What is Stableford scoring in golf?
Stableford is a golf scoring system in which you earn points on each hole instead of counting total strokes. The points depend on your net score against par, after handicap strokes are taken off. The player with the most Stableford points wins. It is the usual format for club competitions in the UK, Ireland, Australia and South Africa.

Stableford points formula
Stableford points = 2 + par − net score, never less than 0
| Net score on the hole | Stableford points |
|---|---|
| Double bogey or worse | 0 |
| Bogey | 1 |
| Par | 2 |
| Birdie | 3 |
| Eagle | 4 |
| Albatross | 5 |
Stableford scoring example
You make a 5 on a par 4 where you receive a handicap stroke. Your net score is 4, a net par, so you score 2 points. On the next hole, a par 3 with no stroke, you make a 4. That is a net bogey, worth 1 point. A 6 there would have scored nothing, and you could have picked up.
How handicap strokes work in Stableford
Your course handicap is spread over the holes in stroke index order. A handicap of 14 gives one stroke on the holes with stroke index 1 to 14. A handicap of 22 gives one on every hole and a second on stroke index 1 to 4.
Modified Stableford scoring
Some professional events use a sharper scale that rewards attacking play: 8 points for an albatross, 5 for an eagle, 2 for a birdie, nothing for par, minus 1 for a bogey and minus 3 for a double bogey or worse.
Stableford golf calculator FAQs
How do you calculate Stableford points?
Take your handicap stroke off your score on each hole, then compare with par: 2 points for a net par, 3 for a net birdie, 1 for a net bogey. The Stableford golf calculator above adds them up for the whole round.
What is a good Stableford score?
36 points means you played exactly to your handicap, which most golfers manage only on a good day. Club competitions are usually won with scores in the high 30s or low 40s.
How many Stableford points is a birdie?
A net birdie is three points. If you receive a stroke on the hole, a par on the card counts as a net birdie and scores three.
Can I pick up my ball in Stableford?
Yes. Once you can no longer score a point on a hole, pick up and move on. It is one reason the format is quicker than stroke play.
